Making Diagrams in Practice
Clare Riding offers a great tip for making visual diagrams that bit more engaging: “Whilst delivering Venn diagrams teaching, use two hoops and allow children to sort objects practically. When delivering Carroll diagrams, tape one to the floor with masking tape and let children practically sort!” This works well with adults too: getting people moving and physically sorting real objects or even just pieces of paper is a great way to breathe life into a tired class.
Applying this in an online learning context? Use Padlet or a Google Doc to let students add their own ideas to a template of a Venn or other diagram.
